Top 10 Recipes
We have over 1400 recipes on Sugar, Spice and Glitter ranging from quick and delicious meals the whole family will love to indulgent, mouth-watering desserts.
When looking at what our top 10 recipes of all time had been – desserts were in the overwhelming majority, and several of our cocktails were also top contenders. So, this list isn’t an accurate representation of the content we share (I really do try to balance out the dessert offerings with healthy options and proper meals) but it is an accurate representation of our reader’s clear favorites.
You can see our full recipe collection here. I’ve divided things up by recipe type, so you can click on whichever button appeals to you and see the full range of those recipes.
But for now – on to the top 10!
(And as a bonus, every single one of these recipes contains a how-to recipe video.)
Strawberry Macarons
We have several macaron recipes on the site and have been fortunate enough to have a cooking class with a French pastry chef – in Paris! Macarons can be tricky, but if you follow the directions precisely, you can create beautiful, bakery-quality macarons perfect for a party or gift-giving.
You can check out the strawberry macaron recipe here – or check out our Birthday Cake Macarons or Samoa Macarons with Caramel-Coconut Filling.
Cocktails
The top three cocktails on our site are:
These cocktails are all super quick and easy, making them perfect for parties or just enjoying at the end of a long day.

Homemade Caramel Popcorn
Our homemade caramel corn is crunchy, sweet and way more affordable to whip up than buying from specialty popcorn kiosks.
A few simple tricks, like adding baking soda to the mixture, ensure a perfect batch – whether you’re making it for a family movie night or as a thoughtful gift.
Sunday Gravy
Our take on Anthony Bourdain’s amazing meat sauce recipe, this Sunday Gravy slow cooks in the oven or on the stove to create a sweet and rich tomato and meat sauce that is perfect for topping pasta – or just enjoying with a side helping of bread! It’s a bit time-consuming but well worth it.
(If you’re not afraid of recipes that require a bit of extra effort for an amazing gourmet experience at home, be sure to check out our Lobster Thermidor recipe or our Steak Oscar recipe with crab and bearnaise sauce.)
No Bake Strawberry Cheesecakes
These little single-serving cheesecakes use real strawberries to create a flavorful dessert that is perfect for summer. We’ve since added a Lemon Raspberry version, too!
Peanut Butter Bliss Bars
A must-try for fans of Reese’s PB Cups, these super simple no-bake peanut butter chocolate bars can be individually portioned and frozen for a sweet treat whenever you have a craving.
Homemade Snickers
If you sense a candy bar theme happening – you’d be right! This no-bake Snickers bar recipe was our first Snickers-inspired recipe on the site, featuring homemade peanut butter nougat, salted peanuts, caramel and milk chocolate. It’s my favorite candy bar so we are constantly sharing new Snickers-inspired desserts, like our Snickers Layer Cake, our Snickers Cheesecake or Snickers Cheesecake Bars.
Sugar-free Black Bean Brownies
Another dessert – but this type, a healthy dessert with zero added sugar and plenty of fibre and protein from black beans. It sounds weird, but these brownies are actually really good and perfect if you’re trying to avoid sugar.
We have several sugar-free desserts on the blog – my favorite is our Sugar-free Banana Bread but our Morning Glory Muffins have been one of our most popular recipes this year.
No-Cook Bailey’s Fudge
We actually have two version of this recipe: a chocolate Bailey’s fudge and a straight Irish Cream-flavored version. Both are 4 ingredients or less and take less than 10 minutes to whip up.
Boozy desserts are a definite favorite of mine (why not have your cake and cocktail, too?) – as evidenced by our Guinness Chocolate Cupcakes with Bailey’s Frosting, Lemon Elderflower Cake and Crepes Suzette with Grand Marnier recipes.
Pizza Sliders
We have a ridiculous amount of pizza-inspired recipes on the blog, but this is the recipe that started it all! A super simple sandwich casserole with all of the flavors of your favorite pizza. (We also made a Deluxe Pizza Sliders version.)
Check out some of our other favorite Pizza-inspired recipes:
- Pizza Pasta Salad
- Pizza Donuts
- Heart-shaped Naan Pizzas
- Pizza Pot Pies
- Hot Deluxe Pizza Dip
- Pull-apart Pizza Bread
- Apple Pie Dessert Pizza
- New York Pizza Burger
