Cheesy Parmesan Green Beans
A simple green bean side dish perfect for pairing with so many different meals, today’s Cheesy Garlic Parmesan Green Beans can be made in the oven or air-fryer.
Cheesy Green Beans Recipe
Frozen green beans are one of the few freezer staples I always have on hand.
It’s a life saver on those weeks where I underestimated how much produce I needed to buy.. or (one of my biggest pet peeves) the fresh produce I bought that week goes bad well before the end of the week.
I can quickly grab a cup or two of green beans out of the bag, rinse them under some warm water and they are ready to use in less than 10 minutes.
There are so many ways to serve them up (other than plain with a bit of butter) – but our favorites are in Green Beans Almondine, our Healthy Green Bean Casserole, and of course, this Cheesy Garlic Parmesan Green Beans recipe.
I tend to make it in the oven, as it’s really low-maintenance, however I’ve included how to make it in the air-fryer in the recipe card below.
Cheesy Green Bean Recipe FAQ and Variations
Of course, you can use fresh green beans in this recipe – but I would personally avoid using canned green beans as they have a distinct tinny/acidic flavor that can be overwhelming.
Different Types of Cheese: you can swap out the mozzarella in this recipe for any medium-moisture, shredded cheese (such as cheddar, gouda or Swiss). Parmesan adds a bit of a salty flavor but can be omitted, if desired.
How to Store Leftover Cheesy Green Beans: this Cheesy Green Beans recipe is best enjoyed within 2-3 days of making it. Store in an airtight container in the fridge and reheat in the airfryer or oven at 350F for 4 minutes (or until just heated through) or microwave for 1 minute.
