Whether you serve them as an appetizer at a party or a main dish for a family meal, these Big Mac Sliders are a delicious twist on a classic that everyone is going to go crazy for!

These Big Mac Sliders may be mini but they are still big on flavor! A miniature version of the classic "two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun" that you can make at home, skipping the drive-thru and saving a good chunk of change in the process.

These Big Mac Sliders may be mini but they are still big on flavor! A miniature version of the classic “two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun” that you can make at home, skipping the drive-thru and saving a good chunk of change in the process.

These mini Big Mac sliders are perfect for families or parties when everyone has a different appetite. I can only eat about half of a Big Mac before I hit my satiety point, while my 11 year old athlete daughter can eat a whole Big Mac plus the leftover half of mine and still go on to eat a side of fries.

For me, one of these sliders is the perfect size (especially if we’re serving it with a couple of sides) while the rest of the family can have 2 or 3, since this recipe makes 12 sliders.

Making one giant “patty” slab on a sheet pan and baking in the oven is so much easier than cooking 12 individual slider patties – it’s really the best hack for making sliders for a crowd and I won’t ever make them any other way now.

My version only has one patty per slider but you can double the amount of beef called for and make two sheet pan sliders to stick truer to the original Big Mac composition.

While I stuck to the standard Big Mac toppings – including American cheese – you can swap out any of the toppings to suit your tastes. If certain family members hate pickles or onions, you can leave those off of a portion of the sliders to accommodate.

What to Serve with Big Mac Sliders:

What is big mac sauce? The secret sauce that has been slathered on Big Macs since their debut in 1968 is creamy, tangy and has a bit of a sweet and sour component thanks to the sugar and vinegar. The sweet tang of the sauce is the perfect complement to a seasoned, meaty burger – the same way that a creamy onion dip makes eating salted chips so much more irresistible.

A lot of people use Thousand Island dressing as a substitute for Big Mac Sauce and while the two are similar, Big Mac Sauce doesn’t use any tomatoes and is more creamy and less tangy than Thousand Island dressing.

You can even make these Big Mac sliders with gluten-free dinner rolls which is so awesome because gluten-free Big Macs aren’t something you can get at McDonald’s! (And in that vein, you can also swap out the ground beef for ground chicken or turkey if you’re trying to avoid red meat.)

If planning to serve at a party, you can save time by making the copycat Big Mac sauce up to two weeks beforehand. (See our dedicated post on how to make Big Mac sauce for more tips.) You can also cook the burger slabs up to three days before if you have room to store them in the fridge (just reheat until cooked through before assembling).

How to Make Sesame Seed Slider Buns: If you absolutely need to serve these Big Mac sliders on sesame seed buns (I get it), just brush the sliders with a couple tablespoons of melted butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake for 5 minutes at 350F to set.

Press the ground beef in a flat rectangle on the prepared cookie sheet, about 1/2″ thick. (Approximately as long and wide as your slider rolls – the rectangle will reduce a bit with cooking.)

Bake the hamburger until an inserted thermometer reads 145F, approximately 10 minutes. (The timing will depend on how thin you pressed out the meat.)

Slice the slider rolls in half through the middle of the sheet so the bottoms of the sliders are one separate sheet and the tops are another. Set the bottom half of the sliders on your serving tray or a cutting board.

For the Big Mac Sauce, combine all ingredients together in a medium-sized bowl. Taste and adjust to personal preferences.
