Cookies and Cream Edible Cookie Dough Recipe
I love a good mash-up dessert, from Lemon Meringue Cookie Cups and S’mores Cookies, to Pecan Pie Cheesecakes and Cheesecake Brownies, so it’s no surprise that my latest instalment in our series of Edible Cookie Doughs had to be a mash-up recipe.
Today’s recipe is an Edible Cookies and Cream Cookie Dough that combines a rich and buttery sugar cookie dough with crushed up OREO cookies.
And now that I think about it – Cookies and Cream is definitely one of my favorite flavor profiles to play with other recipes. We have Cookies and Cream Cold Brew, Cookies and Cream Marshmallow Squares, White Chocolate Cookies and Cream Cupcakes, and even Cookies and Cream Macarons (shaped like Mickey Mouse).
This edible OREO cookie dough recipe is perfect when you don’t want to have to choose between having your cookies and your cookie dough, too.
Edible Cookies and Cream Cookie Dough Variations:
- Brown the butter by melting in a saucepan over medium heat until the milk fats start to caramelize and turn brown
- Use almond flour for a gluten-free option that also skips the need to heat treat the flour
- Add sprinkles, crushed pretzels, caramel bits or other mix-ins for added texture and flavor
- Add a swirl of Nutella, caramel sauce or peanut butter
- Add more milk to make a less dough-y batter and one that more closely resembles softer brownie batter
- Swap out the regular OREOs for a different flavored OREO (and you can also swap out the vanilla extract to match)

How to Serve Edible Cookies and Cream Cookie Dough:
- Use the cookie dough as a cookie sandwich filling by spreading between two vanilla wafer cookies or chocolate wafer cookies
- Serve with dippables like mini OREOs, vanilla wafers, fruit, pretzels, etc.
- Roll into Tablespoon-sized pieces and refrigerate or freeze for a pre-portioned treat.
- Add to homemade or store-bought vanilla ice cream to make your own cookies and cream cookie dough ice cream
- Or, simply serve with a spoon
Can I microwave the flour to heat treat it? Yes, place the flour in a microwave-safe bowl and heat in three 30-second increments, stirring in between, for a total of 90 seconds.
How can I bake this cookie dough? Note that while this cookie dough can be warmed up, it won’t bake up into a cookie if cooked since the recipe doesn’t contain any leavening agents.
How to store edible cookie dough: This edible dough can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
How to freeze edible cookie dough: Wrap the dough well and then place in an airtight, ziptop freezer bag or your favorite freezer containers. (This set of freezer containers is a crazy bargain.) Enjoy within 3 months.
