A decadent and delicious dessert dip for those of us who can't help but sneak bites of cookie when baking, today's Monster Cookie Dough Dip is a fun way to enjoy the flavors of cookie dough and is absolutely loaded with scrumptious mix-ins like M&Ms, chocolate chips and whatever else your heart desires!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Dip Recipe

This easy cookie dough dip takes its inspiration from Monster Cookies – oatmeal cookies loaded with plenty of M&Ms and chocolate chips.

I used my favorite Dutch Apple Dip as the base and then added in all of the mix-ins that Monster Cookies are known for. The result is a sweet, creamy dip with a buttery, brown sugar flavor and just the right amount of tangy cream cheese and salty peanut butter.

Unlike my other edible cookie dough recipes (I’ll provide a list below for you to check them all out), this recipe has more of a dip-like consistency rather than the toothsome chew of a cookie dough. That’s mainly due to the cream cheese base and the fact that we didn’t include any flour in the recipe.

If you want a thicker cookie dough dip, you can add in some almond flour, heat-treated all-purpose flour (see our Edible Brownie Batter recipe for how to do that) or reduce the amount of butter called for in the recipe.

I wanted to keep this recipe completely no bake/no cook, but if you wanted to add that oats to the dip (like in a real monster cookie), I would recommend toasted them in a frying pan before adding to the dip. You could add them in raw for just the texture if enjoying the same day as you make the dip, but I think the texture would become unpleasant if stored in the fridge for more than a couple hours – and you’re not really adding any flavor if the oats are added raw, either.

How to Serve Monster Cookie Dip:

  • Use as a cookie sandwich filling by spreading between two graham crackers or vanilla wafer cookies
  • Serve with dippables like graham crackers, vanilla wafers, fruit, pretzels, etc.
  • Use as a thick frosting on cupcakes (just be sure to use a spatula, not a piping bag)
  • Or, simply serve with a spoon

Why is my cookie dough dip gritty? The sugar can have a gritty texture in this recipe, however if you refrigerate the cookie dip for an hour, the gritty texture will melt into the cookie dough and disappear.

How to store cookie dough dip: This edible dough can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.

I personally do not recommend freezing this cookie dough dip due to the cream cheese.

Tip: 1/2 cup flour, for texture. Flour MUST be cooked in the microwave for 2 minutes or cooked in the oven at 350F for 10 minutes, stirring once, to kill any bacteria. I recommend leaving it out.

  • Measuring Cups and Spoons
  • Cookie Tray
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Electric Mixer <– this is a great hand mixer if you don’t want to make the investment into a stand mixer
  • Whisk or Spatula <– I like these spatulas because they are one solid piece and don’t have removable heads for bacteria to get trapped underneath. Plus they are heat-resistant and have a lifetime warranty.
