Homemade Blueberry Vodka is perfect for late summer entertaining, hostess gifts, or elevating your cocktail game. The process is refreshingly simple: berries, vodka, time. But the results feel like something much more elaborate and time-consuming.

Wild Blueberry Vodka Recipe
Wild blueberries are a mainstay in my kitchen with their intense sweet and tangy flavor and I highly recommend using them over commercial blueberries for this recipe.
This homemade blueberry vodka takes their deep sweetness and folds it into clean, neutral vodka, creating a liqueur that’s equal parts vibrant and moody. Unlike commercial blueberry vodkas, which often lean artificial or overly sweet, this version is grounded in the complexity of the berries themselves. You get real fruit notes—juicy, tannic, floral—balanced by a whisper of earth and the faint tartness that only wild blueberries can deliver.
Not only is this cheaper and contains only natural flavors compared to most store-bought, artificially flavored alcohols, the flavor of this homemade blueberry moonshine is also way better than anything you can buy at the store! Nothing beats the vibrant taste that can only come from soaking fresh blueberries in vodka for a couple of weeks.

How to store homemade infused vodkas: This vodka can be stored at room temperature in a covered jar or bottle after making it, however the flavor will stay fresher if stored in a cool place. (It can be refrigerated or kept in the freezer, though that’s not necessary.)
Do I need to add sugar? Not necessarily. This recipe is more of an infused vodka than a liqueur. If you prefer a sweeter sip, you can stir in a simple syrup after straining—start with ¼ cup and adjust to taste.
How long does the infused blueberry vodka last? Once strained, it’ll keep for up to 6 months in a cool, dark place. Store it in a tightly sealed bottle or jar. If you’ve added sugar or simple syrup, refrigeration is recommended.
What’s the best vodka to use? Choose a mid-range vodka—something clean and neutral. There’s no need for top-shelf, but avoid anything harsh or overly flavored. You want the blueberry flavor to shine.
