Homemade Strawberry Flavored Vodka
I’ve been having a lot of fun with this homemade moonshine trend, but I had yet to make a DIY Strawberry Moonshine! So today, I am rectifying that with a Homemade Strawberry Vodka Moonshine.
Strawberry Moonshine Recipe
OK, so just like with my other DIY Moonshine recipes, I’m going to start off by stating that this is not real moonshine. You don’t need stills or a cabin deep in the woods to make this homemade flavored liquor.
Instead, this is a homemade strawberry infused vodka, using plain, store-bought alcohol and then adding in lots of fresh strawberries (and sometimes a homemade lemonade syrup) for a fresh take on flavored vodka. I don’t know why the trend started calling this “moonshine” but it’s definitely more fun to call it that 😉
Not only is this cheaper and contains only natural flavors compared to most store-bought, artificially flavored alcohols, the flavor of this homemade strawberry moonshine is also way better than anything you can buy at the store! Nothing beats the vibrant taste that can only come from soaking fresh strawberries in vodka for a couple of weeks.
I have a lot of fun experimenting with this method of making naturally flavored vodka, and I haven’t been disappointed with a flavor combination yet! Once you make a couple versions, don’t be afraid to experiment with your favorite flavor combinations. (I’ll be trying cucumber and pear soon!)
So far we’ve shared our Raspberry Donut Moonshine, Peach Pie Moonshine and Butterbeer Moonshine recipes – but I also have an apple cinnamon moonshine coming up soon!
This homemade strawberry vodka makes a great homemade gift and is a lot of fun to serve to guests who will be blown away when you tell them that it’s homemade.
When serving this recipe to guests, I also like adding a bit of edible shimmer to make this strawberry moonshine extra-special! (It will settle to the bottom when stored, so be sure to give it a shake before pouring.)
Tip: I often order my liquor from Drizly because they have a quick delivery time (sometimes within 40 minutes) and no expensive mark-ups. Purchasing from them supports local retailers, too. You can order the vodka needed for this recipe from them.
