Patriotic Limeade Recipe

As long time readers may know, I am Canadian but I work a lot in the US and even have a home there – so, I feel like I cannot let the 4th of July go unnoticed on my blog.

My Jamaican Rum Punch is hands down the most popular cocktail on my site, so I thought I’d do a Patriotic Punch just for the Americans.

This Limeade Vodka Punch is a fun and light recipe perfect for 4th of July BBQs or picnics. It’s slightly unexpected yet absolutely refreshing – and incredibly simple to make!

While you could definitely serve these limemade cocktails without the medley of red, white and blue fruit shown here, it’s a quick and easy addition that adds a fun, festive touch that your guests will love. If using apples for the star cut-outs, have some 7UP or another lemon soda on hand to soak them after cutting (to prevent browning) – this is the best method I have tried, the apples can last all day in a lunch box!

(And speaking of the kids, you can make a non-alcoholic version of this for them – and any abstaining guests – by combining berry punch, limeade and a splash of black cherry soda.)

I often order my liquor from Drizly because they have a quick delivery time (sometimes within 40 minutes) and no expensive mark-ups. Purchasing from them supports local retailers, too. You can order the Red, White and Berry Vodka and Black Raspberry Liquor needed for this recipe from them.

Tip: if using apples in this recipe, soak them in a bit of 7UP after cutting in the star shapes to prevent them from turning brown.
