Mini Deep Dish Pizzas
This unique pizza appetizer is perfect for kids to make, whether you’re serving it for a party, a family movie night, or including in a special lunch box. These Mini Deep Dish Pizzas are just four ingredients and ready to enjoy in less than 15 minutes.
Mini Deep Dish Pizza Recipe
Fridays are family nights at our house, and it’s become somewhat of a tradition to make a unique pizza recipe for it.
These muffin pan pizzas are a fun way to serve pizza, and you can even set up a little “pizza bar station” for the kids to personalize the toppings for their pizzas. They would be perfect for a kids’ party, doubling as both an activity and a snack.
You could even make these just like a traditional Chicago-style deep dish, layering the cheese first, then toppings, then the sauce, but we did a more conventional pizza lay-out. The canned biscuit crust does have a similar buttery taste and that fluffy-yet-crunchy texture of a real Chicago deep dish.

Of course, you can make from-scratch pizza dough for this recipe (I’ll be sharing our easy recipe for that soon), or you could use pie crust, egg roll wrappers, puff pastry, cut up tortillas, etc.
I’ve also included our from-scratch biscuit dough recipe below, but just note that the biscuits will be much denser than what you see in the pictures.
Can these mini pizzas be frozen? Yes, although they are definitely best enjoyed fresh, you can freeze the mini pizzas in a freezer-safe container or ziptop bag for up to 3 months after baking.
