Peach Iced Tea Recipe

Ella first got hooked on iced tea (or sweet tea) in Florida.

I had successfully avoiding exposing my already hyper child to caffeine up until that point, and about halfway into her first glass she was in love… and bouncing off the walls.

She tried to order it every time we were in a restaurant for the rest of that vacation, and of course, there was never any caffeine-free sweet teas on offer, so I had to be the big mean mommy and say “not a chance!”

I softened the blow with a promise that as soon as we got home, we would set to making our own delicious, homemade sweet tea for her to enjoy – and you can bet she kept me true to my word!

This peach mint iced tea is made using a combination of fresh peaches and peach tea bags. Of course, you can skip the fresh peaches but I think they are fun to add in when you have company.

I love the fresh taste that a small amount of mint adds to the recipe. It doesn’t need to be overpowering, you can just use a small amount to give that “clean” mouthfeel while still allowing the peaches to be the main attraction.

This peach mint iced tea is perfect for picnics, BBQs, or just lazy summer days spent in the backyard with the kids.

(You could even add a bit of vodka to it for a sweet tea cocktail just like the one on offer at Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ at Disney Springs.)
