Honey Nut Cheerios Balls Recipe

Honey Nut Cheerio Balls are one of those nostalgic childhood treats that I always tend to forget about, but every time I make them they are an absolute hit.

It’s a fun mash-up dessert that is similar to a classic popcorn ball or rice krispie treats. Nutty, cinnamon-y and sweet Honey Nut Cheerios are mixed with melted marshmallows, honey and peanut butter to form a cute, crunchy little ball of deliciousness.

One of my favorite things about this recipe is that once you make it a couple times, you will have the recipe memorized and be able to make it quickly in between kitchen tasks.

My tip for forming these cereal treats into balls is to spray or coat your hands with a bit of cooking oil. You can use water, but I prefer cooking oil. This prevents the mixture from sticking to your hands so you can easily form them into shape with a mess.

Honey Nut Cheerio Balls Variations:

  • add nuts
  • add chocolate chips
  • use a different cereal or add another along with the honey nut cheerios
  • can be made into squares or granola bars instead
  • use a different nut butter or even sunflower butter instead of peanut butter
  • use crunchy peanut butter
  • use maple syrup instead of honey
