Everything Bagel Salad Dressing Recipe
There are certain ingredients that I know that if I add it to a recipe, my daughter is going to gobble it up:
- cheddar cheese
- bacon
- lemon
- fried onions
- and, everything but the bagel seasoning
We go through more everything but the bagel seasoning in our house than any other spice! I can use the same box of Maldon Sea Salt all year long, but I can’t keep a jar of EBTB seasoning in the cupboard for more than two months. (I actually had to figure out my own homemade everything but the bagel seasoning since our closest Trader Joe’s is over an hour away.)
I’m trying to serve a few big salads as meals each week, mostly for my own health goals, but I’m not a fan of preparing two different meals so I’ve had to come up with some yummy, homemade salad dressings that Ella will be happy to eat, too – and today’s Everything But the Bagel Salad Dressing definitely fit the bill!
It avoids the added sugars, mayonnaise and junky ingredients of many commercial salad dressings and has a unique, sweet and tangy flavor with just the right amount of acidity from the garlic and onion in the EBTB seasoning and the apple cider vinegar. It uses my homemade honey mustard salad dressing as a base but that everything bagel seasoning adds a whole new flavor dimension.
This everything but the bagel salad dressing lasts for 2 weeks in the fridge, if kept in a sealed container like a mason jar or salad dressing bottle.
Of course, you can use your Everything But the Bagel Salad Dressing on your favorite salads, but here are some other unique ways to serve everything bagel salad dressing:
- use as a dipping sauce with chicken tenders (or our Copycat Chick-fil-a Nuggets recipe)
- use as a dressing for a cold pasta salad
- use to marinate chicken
- swap out the pomegranate dressing called for in our Brussels Sprout Salad
- drizzle over roasted veggies for a new flavor dimension
