A healthy homemade salad dressing that tastes incredibly decadent, our Honey Mustard Salad Dressing skips the mayonnaise, sugars and thickeners used in traditional honey mustard dressings, so your lunchtime salad doesn’t end up being diet sabotage.
Honey Mustard Salad Dressing Recipe
My biggest hurdle to eating salads for lunch throughout the week is all of that darn prep!
To be completely honest with you, I usually skip lunch altogether or just grab whatever is quick or already available – which are rarely healthy options. My dream, grown-up version of myself has a giant fridge, preps salad ingredients every weekend, and leisurely enjoys giant meal-size salads every lunch time.
Eh, I’m about halfway there.
I’ve gotten better about cooking up a few extra chicken breasts on the weekend and whipping up at least a batch of soup and a homemade salad dressing. (Sometimes I’ll make egg or ham salad and even cut up some fresh fruit.)
I don’t aim to prep every single meal, but since lunchtime is my “problem area,” as long as I have some solid lunch options ready-to-go at the beginning of the week, I’m happy.
Next week’s salads are all going to be drizzled with this fantastic honey mustard salad dressing.
It’s sweet with a bit of tang and just the right amount of acidity – and doesn’t contain any of the mayonnaise, sugar or thickeners that store-bought honey mustard dressings contain. Seriously, it makes my thrown-together, 5 minute salads taste amazing and like someone put a lot more time and effort into preparing it for me.
Seriously, this honey mustard dressing is a game changer – having a jar of it on hand makes it 100% more likely that I will actually eat a salad or two that week. (Even if I’m just eating the salad so I can have the dressing.)
This honey mustard salad dressing lasts for 2 weeks in the fridge, if kept in a sealed container like a mason jar or salad dressing bottle.
