Crockpot BBQ Peach Chicken Thighs Recipe

I’m a huge fan of combining different flavor profiles, even when I’m making something as simple as a quick chicken dinner – and this BBQ Peach Chicken recipe is definitely a stellar example of that.

The tender chicken thighs slowly simmer in a luscious, glossy sauce made from smoky and tangy barbecue sauce, juicy and sweet peach preserves, a splash of umami Worcestershire, savoury poultry seasoning and spicy cayenne pepper, creating a rich and complex flavor that makes this easy Crockpot BBQ Peach Chicken recipe so incredibly delicious!

Despite taking less than 10 minutes to throw together, this recipe tastes like it came from a gourmet kitchen that spent hours ensuring that every bite was lip-smackingly scrumptious.

Crockpot Peach Chicken Variations:

  • Can swap out the peach jam for another favorite jam (like raspberry or apricot).
  • Can swap out the BBQ sauce for chili sauce.
  • Add a teaspoon of liquid smoke for a touch of smokiness (or use a smoky BBQ sauce).
  • Reduce the heat by swapping the cayenne pepper for paprika or chipotle powder.
  • Add chopped veggies like bell peppers, broccoli or carrots if serving as a main dish
  • Use cut-up chicken breasts instead of chicken thighs, if desired. (You may need to reduce the cooking time to 2.5 hours to accommodate this switch.)

This is the crockpot that I use the most often – it has a thermoshield which not only prevents little fingers from being burned if the kids touch the outside of the crockpot, but it’s also great for bringing along to potlucks. I also like that I can set the cook time on it, so if we end up taking too long playing outside (or running errands) I don’t have to worry about the food burning.

Can I make this peach chicken recipe in the Instant Pot? Yes! You can combine all of the ingredients in your Instant Pot and use the manual setting for 10 minutes, then quick release.

Can this recipe be frozen? Yes. You can either store the leftovers in your fridge for up to 4 days or place in your favorite freezer containers and freeze for up to 3 months (this set of freezer containers is a crazy bargain). Allow the sauce to thaw completely before reheating and serving.

Can I double the recipe? Yes, just ensure the chicken is laid in a single layer in the Crockpot as much as possible, or stir halfway through for even cooking.
