A fun homemade gift for the gardeners in your life, these easy Reindeer Planters add some festive cheer to windowsill gardens. A super simple garden craft for kids.

Reindeer Planter Craft

For the longest time, I killed any plant that dared enter my house but after a lot of trial and error, I finally have several lush, healthy plants all throughout our home.

As a funny little ode to my gardening success, one of my daycare parents had her children make this super cute reindeer planter for me! Isn’t it adorable?!

And because she knows that I love to share crafts on my blog, she took pictures so I could share a step-by-step tutorial for you to make one, too!

These reindeer planters are so easy to make and a cute way to gift a small Christmas plant. The decorations can be removed and covered up after the holidays, if desired.

You can even make a bigger version of this planter for a larger plant with these giant googly eyes and giant pipe cleaners.

Reindeer Planter Materials

Tip: opt for a glue that will not dissolve in water, like hot glue or e600.

How to Make a Reindeer Planter

Start by gluing on the features of the reindeer’s face to one side of the planter.

If you’re worried about placement, you can draw on little x’s with pencil where you want to place the features.

Attach the googly eyes and red pompom nose using a dab of glue.

Bend the pipe cleaners to resemble a reindeer antler, just by making it squiggly at the top with a few bends in the pipe cleaner.

Attach to the back of the planter using a dab of glue, on the opposite side from the facial features.

Allow glue to dry completely before adding a plant.
