Pumpkin Cheesecake Swirl Brownies Recipe
If you’ve been around Sugar, Spice and Glitter for any length of time, you’re probably fully aware of my daughter’s pumpkin obsession.
This girl cannot get enough pumpkin – whether we’re using it in sweet or savoury recipes, she’s all about it… and I’ve slowly grown to love it, too. (Especially in our pumpkin chocolate chip cookies – soooo good.)
These pumpkin swirl cheesecake brownies are the perfect compromise if you have a houseful of pumpkin fans and chocolate lovers like we do. The rich, chocolatey flavor of the brownies are perfectly complemented by the indulgent swirl of cheesecake with that perfect hint of pumpkin and pumpkin spice.
For this recipe, I used a boxed brownie mix to make things a little bit easier – especially since I had little hands helping. You can definitely swap out the boxed brownie mix for your favorite homemade brownie recipe.
Can these pumpkin cheesecake brownies be frozen? Technically yes. You can individually wrap each brownie and then store in a freezer-safe ziptop bag or your favorite freezer containers for up to three months. (This set of freezer containers is a crazy bargain.) Personally, I’m not a fan of cheesecake-anything being frozen, as I find the texture when it’s brought back to room temperature is slightly affected, and texture is just as important as taste for me.

How to Make Pumpkin Cheesecake Brownies
Preheat oven to 350F
Grease a 9” x 9” casserole dish and set aside.
Prepare the brownie mix according to box directions. Pour the batter into the prepared casserole dish.
In a medium bowl, beat together the cream cheese, white sugar, pumpkin puree and egg until completely combined.
Stir in the flour, cinnamon and pumpkin pie spice.
Spoon the pumpkin mixture onto the brownie batter and then use a spoon or spatula to swirl the two together.
Bake according to package directions, until the brownies pull away from the sides of the baking dish and an inserted toothpick comes out mostly clean.
Allow the brownies to cool before covering in chocolate or frosting.
Melt the chocolate by heating in the microwave in 25-second bursts, stirring well in between each reheating. Stir in the coconut oil to make the chocolate smoother and easier to cut later.
Pour the melted chocolate over the brownies and smooth down with the back of a spoon or an offset spatula.
Sprinkle the orange sprinkles over the melted chocolate. Allow the chocolate to set completely before cutting.
