Pumpkin Spice Hot Chocolate Truffles Recipe

Chocolate and pumpkin spice are a match made in flavor heaven.

The flavors play off each other perfectly for a not-too-sweet, slightly spicy and warm flavor profile that will pique your tastebuds and make it impossible to stop at just one truffle!

While this recipe is super easy and no-bake, my favorite thing about it is it’s versatility. You can enjoy the pumpkin truffles as-is for a light dessert, or pop one in a mug of warm milk and stir for a rich cup of pumpkin spice-flavored hot chocolate. I personally like adding it to a late evening latte, placing my truffle in the cup before adding the espresso and hot milk so that it melts completely.

The candy coating and pumpkin stem decorations are completely optional and can be left off to make this recipe quicker and easier. They are just a cute way to serve or gift this recipe.

If serving to guests or at a party as a hot chocolate bomb, I would serve the mug of milk (or latte) with the truffle on the side and allow your guest to drop in their truffle and stir to melt. A bit of dining theatre is always fun! (Who says it’s just kids who like to play with their food?!)

These pumpkin spice truffles can be frozen, as long as you haven’t added the candy coating, as that will crack when frozen and then “sweat” when brought back to room temperature. You can add the candy coating after they have come back to room temperature, though, if desired.
