Bunny Easter Egg Craft

Although dyeing Easter eggs is always a classic, sometimes you need a fun new idea for decorating Easter eggs.

This cute little Bunny Easter Egg is whimsical and fun, with a felt flower crown and a little grass stand made of cardstock. You can free-hand the craft based on the images below or download our free printable template to make your crafting experience even easier.

For best experience, I recommend using craft eggs rather than real eggs. While hardboiled eggs or blown-out eggs will work, craft eggs can be saved and used to decorate for years to come. (Plus, there is less of a risk of accidentally cracking a craft egg than there is with real eggs.)

This Easter Bunny Egg craft is one of the 32 recipes, crafts and decor ideas included in our free Easter Planning Ebook available to our e-mail subscribers:

Easter Bunny Egg Materials

  • Egg <– I suggest craft eggs over real hardboiled eggs, so you can keep these bunny Easter eggs for years to come
  • Green Cardstock
  • Felt fabric
  • Craft glue
  • Pencil
  • Pink and Black Markers
  • Scissors <– these are the ones we have and they have lasted for years in our daycare, and unlike some other safety scissors – they actually cut things!

How to Make a Bunny Easter Egg

Use a craft egg or clean, hollowed out egg for this craft.

Trace grass pattern on to green craft paper and cut out using scissors.

Roll the grass cut-out to form a tube and glue the open ends together to form a base for your Easter Egg.

Trace and cut out outer ear patterns on white felt and inner ear patterns on pink felt.

Attach the pink ear cut-outs on the white (outer) ear cut-outs.

Glue the felt ears to the top end of your egg.

Use a black sharpie to draw the eyes, nose and mouth of the egg bunny.

Trace and cut out the spiral patterns onto any color of felt that you’d like for your flowers.

Wrap the spiral patterns to form a coil and glue onto the top of the egg, right below the ears.

Add 3-4 felt flowers to the egg, forming a flower crown, and then place the egg bunny on the grass base for display.
