Taco Pizza with Crescent Rolls Recipe
This meal was the result of one of those days when you have a bunch of odds and ends in the fridge that need to be used up and somehow, they just all end up making sense together.
Crescent dough is a staple in my fridge – I always grab a couple when they are on sale so we can have them on hand, for everything from an easy breakfast pastry to my daughter’s favorite Broccoli Braid, or, of course, actual crescent rolls.
Using crescent roll dough as a replacement for pizza crust creates a buttery crust, tender and layered crust similar to a Chicago-style pizza.
You could top a crescent dough pizza with whatever toppings you like, but since we had a bunch of taco-related toppings we went with a taco-style crescent dough pizza and a cream cheese and sour cream “sauce.” Sounds weird but it was absolutely delicious.
