Patriotic Coconut Rum Slushy Recipe
We just got our copy of Captain Marvel in the mail and so you know I had to make a themed treat to go along with it!
This fun slushy is just for the grown ups – with lots of tropical flavors and a fun patriotic theme. It’s perfect for the Red, Blue and Gold of Captain Marvel’s suit (you could add some butterscotch schnapps for a golden color, if you prefer).
Captain Marvel is a huge deal in the Marvel Universe as it’s the first female superhero franchise. (Also, it seems like Brie Larson is a super amazing woman herself.)
Set in the 1990s, “Captain Marvel” sidesteps the traditional origin-story template, with Carol Danvers (Academy Award winner Brie Larson) already possessing her superhero powers.
Leaving her earthly life behind, she joins an intergalactic elite Kree military team called Starforce, led by their enigmatic commander, YonRogg (Jude Law). But after Danvers has trained and worked with the Starforce team, and become a valued member¬, she finds herself back on Earth with new questions about her past.
While on Earth she quickly lands on the radar of Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), and they must work together against a formidable enemy in the form of the Skrulls—the notorious Marvel bad guys made even more dangerous by their shape-shifting abilities—and their leader, Talos (Ben Mendelsohn), who is spearheading a Skrull invasion of Earth.

Coconut Rum Slushy Ingredients
Blue Slush Layer:
- Ice
- Blue Curaçao
- Homemade lemonade <– or store-bought can be used
White Slush Layer:
- Ice
- Coconut Rum
- Homemade lemonade
Red Slush Layer:
- Strawberries, quartered
- Coconut Rum
- Homemade lemonade
Tip: add some butterscotch schnapps or gold food coloring to the middle layer if you’d prefer a blue, gold and red slushy.

HOW TO MAKE A PATRIOTIC SLUSHY COCKTAIL
Blend each layer separately until smooth.
Store in freezer until ready to build your cocktail.
Pour each layer into a highball glass and serve immediately.

A delicious coconut rum slushie with patriotic flair! Perfect for 4th of July BBQs or a Captain Marvel movie night
Ingredients
Blue Slush Layer:
- 2 cups ice
- 2 oz. Blue Curacao
- 1 cup homemade lemonade
White Slush Layer:
- 2 cups ice
- 2 oz. Coconut Rum
- 1 cup homemade lemonade
Red Slush Layer:
- 1 ¼ cups strawberries, quartered
- 2 oz. Coconut Rum
- ¼ cup of homemade lemonade
Instructions
- Blend each layer separately until smooth.
- Store in freezer until ready to build your cocktail.
- Pour each layer into a highball glass and serve immediately.
