Rainbow Slushy Cocktail Recipe

If you’ve been around Sugar, Spice & Glitter for any length of time, you know that I love my vodka cocktails! It is the perfect spirit to allow me to be creative with my concoctions because the vodka doesn’t interfere with the flavors or color of my cocktail.

When I saw the gorgeous rainbow bottle for the new special edition Smirnoff “Love Wins” campaign ($1 per bottle is being donated to Human Rights Campaigns) I knew I wanted to use it to make some rainbow slushy cocktails! (However, if you miss out on the limited edition bottle, don’t worry – this recipe will work with any vodka… or you could even substitute light rum or tequila if you’re so inclined.)

As I’m writing this post, it’s actually the 2nd anniversary of the Pulse nightclub shooting, and it’s Pride month here in Canada, so I wanted to do something to honor both of those events. So, let’s raise a glass and remember that love wins.

There are so many fun ways to make this rainbow slushy cocktail.

You can:

  • use crushed up popsicles in each of the rainbow flavors
  • use frozen fruit in a variety of rainbow colors – strawberry, orange, pineapple, kiwi, blueberry, and acai
  • use drink flavor packets (like Kool-aid or Crystal Light)

I went the easy way and used Kool-Aid packets but the crushed up popsicles (or frozen drink mixes) would be delicious as well.

Tip: I often order my liquor from Drizly because they have a quick delivery time (sometimes within 40 minutes) and no expensive mark-ups. Purchasing from them supports local retailers, too. You can order the Vodka needed for this recipe from them.
