Surprisingly, I didn’t give birth to a chocoholic. My girl loves mango dessert recipes, like our mango cupcakes with fresh mango buttercream. We recently did a bit of a search for new mango desserts recipes and wanted to share all of the wonderful ideas we found!
Even though we couldn’t be further from the tropics, we always have various forms of mango in the house. It’s a guaranteed way to get my daughter to eat her breakfast (like with our mango smoothie bowl) and we love taking fresh or dried mango with us when we travel. (We’ve gotten more than a few friends hooked on this kind.)
Mango is a wonderful fruit to include in dessert recipes, as it is always sweet with a well-rounded flavour. It can be easily pureed (unlike other citruses) and used in the place of applesauce in any baked goods that call for applesauce (or use it to swap out for some oil). In it’s whole form, it is silky smooth and lends itself to gorgeous designs (like that beautiful rose pattern above).
If you’re looking for healthy mango desserts, please leave me a comment letting me know and I’d be happy to bring more to you! My daughter thinks our Mango Vanilla Smoothie tastes like a mango milkshake and I’ve made my sugar-free banana bread with pureed mangoes instead of bananas, but we’d love to develop some more options if there’s a demand for it. (There are a couple in the list below, in addition to the more indulgent mango desserts.)
Easy Mango Desserts

No-Bake Mango Cheesecake Recipe | Kusina Master Recipes – NO BAKE. MANGO. CHEESECAKE. If the title of this recipe doesn’t speak to your soul, I don’t know what else I can say about it.
Homemade Fresh Mango Ice Cream | Nisa Homey – No ice cream maker necessary, this is a super simple homemade ice cream recipe.
Mango Coconut Icebox Cake | The Kitchn – Coconut, mango, rum. This icebox cake is begging to be served outside on a warm summer day.
Kids’ Kitchen: Mango Cake with Fresh Whipped Cream | Sugar, Spice & Glitter – this Mango Cake recipe is so simple, Ella was able to make it at 3 years old (with a bit of help). We skipped frosting and just used fresh whipped cream, but you could use the fresh mango buttercream from the below recipe, if desired.
Mango Cupcakes with Fresh Mango Buttercream | Sugar, Spice & Glitter – our most popular mango dessert recipe! This cupcake uses fresh mangoes for unbelievable flavor, and that mango buttercream gets non-stop rave reviews.
Pineapple-Mango Pudding | Sugar, Spice and Glitter – A creamy homemade pudding made with fresh fruit – and it can be made dairy-free! (not pictured)

Creamy Dreamy Mango Popsicles | Foodie Crush – a healthy mango popsicle recipe AND she also shares a video of her hack for peeling mangoes.
Chocolate-covered Mango Strips | Tia’s Kitchen – the most simple mango dessert recipe on this list, but still so satisfying!
Mango Upside-Down Cake | From Brazil to You – a long-overdue take on pineapple upside down cake. I cannot wait to try this one!
Do you have any mango fans in your home? Which of these desserts will you be trying?
