Peach Pie Smoothie Bowl
Ella and I discovered smoothie bowls a few months ago and there has been no turning back. It’s our go-to easy healthy breakfast, while still being incredibly satisfying and sometimes indulgent – like with this Peach Pie Smoothie Bowl.
Peach Pie Smoothie Bowl Recipe
This smoothie bowl had all of the flavour of a peach pie a la mode, but left us feeling lighter and more refreshed than we would feel after an equally generous slice of pie. Fresh peaches, sweet and crunchy walnuts, cinnamon-spiced yogurt and peach puree, with cracked oats – all sweetened with a touch honey… I could definitely go for another bowl of this again, now!
It’s one of those breakfasts that toes the line into “healthy dessert territory” and it really would be a delicious treat at the end of the day if you’re looking for something light and filling.
Of course, with any smoothie bowl you can add in nutrient-rich seeds or powders to bump up the health quotient, but those are personal taste and react differently with everyone’s bodies. I prefer to give you a base recipe like this and if you’d like to add some chia, or flax, or whatever supplement you wish, then you can rest assured that the rest of the recipe is delicious and taken care of.
While the peach and yogurt puree (with optional seeds) can be prepared the night before, I wouldn’t assemble this peach pie smoothie bowl until right before you were about to enjoy it.
You can make individual ramekins or bowls (like I did) or triple (or quadruple) the batch for a family-style peach pie that can be portioned out at the breakfast table.
