Butterfinger Dessert Recipe

If the 100+ Halloween posts on this website are any indication – we are a Halloween family.

We don’t like the truly scary or gory stuff, but we have a lot of fun with all of the fun themes and make believe that comes out of the season, and we love decorating our house with spooky decor and coming up with delicious Halloween-inspired treats, like these No-Bake Butterfinger Treats!

My daughter and I had a blast making these no-bake squares using crispety, crunchety, peanut-buttery Butterfingers – both their fun size bars and Fun Size Butterfinger Peanut Butter Cups Skulls.

The Fun Size Butterfinger Peanut Butter Cups Skulls are a fun topping for your Halloween desserts, and would also be super fun laid out on a tray by themselves. They double as a fun ingredient and a spooky treat for party guests or trick or treaters.

Being no-bake, these treats were super simple for my daughter to help me make, but the addition of chopped up Butterfingers in the square adds something special and unexpected, while the chocolate skulls make these the perfect Halloween treat!

What spell-a-bration is complete without a spookily scrumptious recipe like these fun No-Bake Butterfinger Dessert Squares?!

Kitchen Tools You May Find Helpful

  • Microwave-safe Mixing bowl
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Wooden spoon or spatula <– I like these spatulas because they are one solid piece and don’t have removable heads for bacteria to get trapped underneath. Plus they are heat-resistant and have a lifetime warranty.
  • 9″ x 9″ casserole dish <– I love these Pyrex dishes with fitted lids for easy transportation to parties or leftover storage
  • Deep microwavable dish (for melting)
  • Cutting board

How to Make No-Bake Butterfinger Treats

Grease a 9″ x 9″ casserole dish and set aside.

Place the marshmallows and butter in a large microwave-safe bowl.

Melt for 25 seconds, stir, and reheat as necessary.

Meanwhile, cut up the funsize Butterfinger bars.

Add in 3 cups of the crispy rice cereal and Butterfinger pieces to the mixing bowl and stir to combine. Add more cereal as needed.

Press the cereal mixture into your casserole dish and refrigerate for 2 hours or overnight.

Cut the squares into 9 even pieces and pop out onto a cutting board.

Melt your chocolate candy melts or almond bark in a deep container for easy dipping. Heat in the microwave for 25 seconds, stirred, then repeated as needed.

Take each square and dip it diagonally into the melted chocolate. (You may find it easier to use a spoon to drip the chocolate along the half of the Butterfinger treats.)

While the chocolate is still wet, attach an unwrapped Fun Size Butterfinger Peanut Butter Cups Skulls half on the chocolate side of the treat, and half of the plain side of the treat (as shown).

Let the chocolate dry completely before packaging or serving.
