Friendship Brownies
Friendship Brownies are the perfect dessert when you can’t decide what kind of sweet treat you’re craving. Chocolate chip cookies? OREOS? Brownies? Why not all of the above? Yes, I think all of the above is the correct answer.
Chocolate Chip Cookie Brownies Recipe
Is this a sweet treat? I think.. let me taste it.. I think it might be, yes, I think IT IS A SWEET TREAT.
(Sorry, I have a teenager, I can’t write “sweet treat” without this viral Tiktok sound playing in my head. But bonus, if you serve these sweet treats and quote this Tiktok you will get some cool mom points for being up on the trends.)
These cookie-brownie desserts are also known as “sl*tty brownies” but I really don’t like that name, so I renamed ours Friendship Brownies since the cookie dough, OREOs and brownie batter come together as friends to make the ultimate (friendship) brownie.
You can make them from scratch, or use pre-made cookie dough and boxed brownie mix. I provide how to make them from scratch below, but just know that if you choose to take a couple shortcuts you will still result in the most indulgent and decadent cookie-brownie bars ever!
These friendship brownies feature a soft and chewy chocolate chip cookie base, rich fudgey brownies separated by a luscious cookies and cream layer. They are possibly one of the most indulgent desserts I have ever made while also being incredibly easy to whip up.
Three desserts in one? OREO Brookies? Slutty brownies? Yes to all of the above.
Friendship Brownie Variations:
- use different OREO flavours or a different type of sandwich cookie (like nutter butters)
- make the top layer blondies instead of brownies
- use a different cookie dough base, like peanut butter cookie dough or sugar cookie dough
- add frosting or ganache to the top of these brownies
- mix in favourite brownie add-ins, like nuts, M&Ms, etc.
- top the brownie layer with a sprinkle of flakey sea salt
How to store friendship brownies: these brownies can be stored in an airtight container on the counter for up a week, or frozen in ziptop freezer bags or freezer containers for up to 3 months.
(This set of freezer containers is a crazy bargain.)

Wait, did you really just combine chocolate chip cookies, OREOs, and brownies into one dessert? How have I not tried this yet?
Any tips for keeping the Among Us Online middle layer of OREOs from getting soggy or “sinking” during baking? I’m curious because this is the part that can easily lose its texture if not done properly.
