Crockpot Thin Mint Hot Chocolate Recipe
My daughter is generally not a huge fan of dessert, but this girl LOVES mint chocolate.
Ever since she discovered mint chip ice cream on a family vacation at the Diplomat a few years ago, it’s been my go-to flavor combination when I want to make something special for her.
For a recent special sleepover party with friends, I thought I’d surprise her with this decadent Crockpot Andes Hot Chocolate – and it went over like gangbusters!
Crockpot hot chocolate is the perfect option when you want to serve hot drinks at a party or get-together, but don’t really want to be stuck making several individual hot drinks. Just throw all of the ingredients in your crockpot and whisk every 30 minutes.
An hour and a half later, you can ladle out the decadent hot chocolate and garnish, or just set up a mini hot chocolate bar and let guests self-serve.
I made the first round of hot chocolates for the girls, then let them self-serve until the crockpot was empty. They had so much fun adding the garnishes to their drinks – and I think they felt really special and grown up with those pretty espresso mugs, too.
This is the crockpot that I use the most often – it has a thermoshield which not only prevents little fingers from being burned if the kids touch the outside of the crockpot, but it’s also great for bringing along to potlucks. I also like that I can set the cook time on it, so if we end up taking too long playing outside (or running errands) I don’t have to worry about the food burning.
