Cricut Embroidery Hoop Ornament with Noel SVG (with Video)
An easy Christmas Cricut Craft using our free Noel SVG file, this Embroidery Hoop Craft adds some modern farmhouse style to your Christmas decor.
Cricut Embroidery Hoop Craft
Christmas is hands-down my favorite crafting season, and now that I have a Cricut machine you can be guaranteed that I will be rolling out Cricut Christmas craft after Cricut Christmas craft!
Today’s craft is a simple take on an embroidery hoop ornament, using craft paper instead of fabric. The effect of using two contrasting patterned papers adds a fun visual interest.
Of course, if you’d prefer to use fabric, you can use this method to cut fabric using your Cricut machine if you press the fabric on an EasyGrip Mat.
You can display this ornament as-is on a Christmas tree or wall, or make it into the center of a wreath.
The free Noel SVG file can also be used in so many different ways:
- use with heat transfer vinyl to personalize pillows or shirts
- cut out adhesive vinyl to attach to ornaments or signs
- cut out on heavy cardstock to attach to ornaments or wreaths
- cut out on heavy cardstock or leather for a script ornament

How to Make a Cricut Embroidery Hoop Ornament
Using your foam brush, paint the embroidery hoop. I painted two coats. Be sure to allow to dry completely before putting the pieces together.
Load the SVG file into your Cricut Design Space. Place the scrapbook paper on the Cricut mat and cut the “NOEL”.
Carefully peel the piece from the mat. Glue the “NOEL” to the other piece of scrapbook paper.
Trace the hoop around the paper and cut, going an additional ½” out the traced circle.
Cut the batting the same size circle as the scrapbook paper.
Place the scrapbook paper on top of the batting and place between the hoops.
Close the hoops and tighten.
Attach twine or ribbon to the top of the hoop. This will be used to hang the ornament.
Add decorative embellishments if desired.
