A decadent layered chocolate dessert, today’s Chocolate Dessert Lasagna (or Chocolate Lush if you prefer the non-pasta connotation) is an incredibly indulgent no-bake chocolate dessert with 4 layers of pure bliss.

Chocolate dessert lasagna skips the noodles in favor of layers of a buttery, chocolate cookie crust, followed by a no-bake cheesecake layer, then a chocolate pudding layer and finished off with a final layer of whipped topping. (Oh, and a hefty sprinkle of chocolate sprinkles.) It's decadent, it's uber chocolatey and it's the absolute perfect no-bake dessert for chocolate fans.

OK so let’s just get this out of the way – I found it super weird when this layered dessert trend somehow ended up with the moniker of a dessert lasagna.

It took me a long time to think of a dessert lasagna without having weird visions of pasta mixed with chocolate, but I’m here now and I embrace it.

A dessert lasagna is so named because it’s a layered dessert (much like how lasagna is a layered pasta dish) but that’s basically where the similarities end.

How to store chocolate dessert lasagna: this layered dessert should be covered and kept in the fridge until serving. (This is why I make the recipe in a Pyrex dish that comes with a lid.) It can be stored in the fridge for up to a week.

How to freeze chocolate dessert lasagna: cover and freeze in a freezer-safe container for up to one month. You can thaw in the fridge prior to serving, although this chocolate dessert lasagna also makes a great frozen treat.

Tip: the type of Oreos you use change the amount of butter needed. Go based on whether it sticks together more than worrying if you’re adding too much butter.
