A super simple tutorial for how to make these super cute Bunny Butt cupcakes! A cute Easter cupcake recipe kids will love

Bunny Bum Cupcake Recipe

Last year, my daughter begged me to make a “unicorn poop” dessert and I compromised with our Unicorn Kiss Cookies.

This year, there is just no way to spin this dessert – it’s a straight-up bunny butt.

I’m still going to call them bunny bum cupcakes because in my mind, that’s just a little less crass, but um, either way… there are a collection of bunny bums staring up at me from this plate.

But even I have to admit that these bunny cupcakes are pretty darn cute! If I could make them all over again, I would add a small, squished pink marshmallow to serve as the bunny’s tail. (Like I did with our bunny bum pretzels.)

You don’t need any cupcake master skills to make these cupcakes – those little bunny feet candies do most of the work for you! Now, I had a bit of trouble tracking them down in stores, so I’d just recommend ordering them online to save yourself the hassle (I went to 4 stores before I was able to find them).  If you can’t find them and don’t have time to order them, you can also make these with a bit of fondant or gum paste. The Bearfoot Baker even has a tutorial on making bunny feet candies you can check out.

In fact, if you’re intimidated by the green grass piping, feel free to just leave it off and transform the whole cupcake into a bunny bum. I’m sure the kids won’t mind.

(However, if you even make two cakes or cupcakes a year, I highly recommend purchasing a basic piping set like this one – you won’t believe how easy it is to pipe gorgeous decorations yourself using the right equipment! For just a bit more, this starter cake decorating set is a crazy good deal – basically everything you will ever need for cake or cupcake decorating is in here!)

To make these cupcakes even easier, we used a boxed cake mix, but of course, you can grab any cupcake recipe from our site (or your personal recipe collection) to swap in. I just wanted to keep these light and breezy – but homemade frosting is a non-negotiable.
