Bunny Butt Recipe

The slippery slope of letting bunny bums into our lives happened quickly.

One day, I’m making Bunny Butt Cupcakes – trying to appease myself by calling them “upside down bunny bum cupcakes” – and the next, we are full tilt embracing the bunny bum trend with yet another bunny bum dessert.

My daughter is thrilled that she gets to say the word “bum” in the kitchen without getting in trouble (I hit my potty humor limit years ago), and I have to be honest, these bunny pretzels are pretty darn cute.

Even if it’s a bunny bum.

The first time I made these bunny bum pretzels I had the pretzels reversed, with the top facing down, but I like the way I made it for these pictures. I think they are a bit reminiscent of bunny ears, and I like how easy they are to grab without potentially getting your fingers messy with the white chocolate.

You don’t need any cupcake master skills to make these cupcakes – those little bunny feet candies do most of the work for you! Now, I had a bit of trouble tracking them down in stores, so I’d just recommend ordering them online to save yourself the hassle (I went to 4 stores before I was able to find them). If you can’t find them and don’t have time to order them, you can also make these with a bit of fondant or gum paste. The Bearfoot Baker even has a tutorial on making bunny feet candies you can check out.

Tip: take care to match up the sizes on the candy melts/white chocolate wafers with the pretzels. I don’t find these pretzels look as cute if the candy melt is too small for the pretzel.
