Beach Water Table Activity for Kids
While we are spoiled with dozens of nearby beaches living in the Great Lakes district, there aren’t any beaches or splashpads within walking distance of our house – which means I have to get creative when it comes to letting the kids cool off in the summer.
My daughter came up with the awesome idea to “bring the beach to our backyard” and we started brainstorming ways to do that. We wanted to do a combination of sand and water without everything turning to mud – and making our own DIY Waterproof Sand was the perfect solution!
Today, I’m sharing all of the details for our beach-themed water table and how to make homemade waterproof sand over on CBC Parents – but if you try it, don’t forget to come back and tell me (or tag me on social media).
Be sure to check out our fun video to see Ella in action helping me make this sensory table, and then how much fun the kids had exploring it!
Don’t forget to pin this post for later.

The link for the full directions no longer works. I was curious what you sprayed on the sand. Thank you!
Thanks for letting me know – we used spray-on adhesive glue but I’m going to see if I can find the write-up since they’ve deleted the post on their end.
