10+ Easter Egg Sensory Play
One of our favourite ways to celebrate holidays (or any theme) is Sensory Play! I especially love it when our sensory play is safe enough for toddlers but interesting enough for the older kids. These Easter Egg Sensory Play Ideas are perfect for mixed age groups and will provide hours of Easter-themed fun for your little ones!
Easter Sensory Play Ideas
While our Chocolate Sensory Play ideas are great for any holiday involving chocolate, I wanted to come up with a list of different fun, sensory-based ways to use up those plastic Easter eggs that always somehow appear in homes at this time of year. (I don’t remember buying them, do you?)
Some of these ideas would also work well with craft eggs – the kind we used to make our Chalkboard Easter Eggs – so if you don’t have plastic Easter eggs at home already and don’t want to purchase them, feel free to purchase whatever your family will get the most use out of!
Sensory play is a great way to engage children in building fine motor skills, practice numeracy and language skills (count the eggs, describe the textures you’re feeling, etc), and engage their creative minds.
All of these ideas are perfect for making the most out of a rainy Spring day.
I also love how many Easter Sensory Kits are available on Etsy – these would be perfect for sending to a grandchild or ordering as a fun alternative to a chocolate-filled Easter basket!
