Popsicle Stick Gingerbread House Craft
Anyone else guilty of craft supply shopping when they don’t really have a craft in mind?
I love browsing the aisles and seeing what cute supplies are available and what fun ideas pop into my head. These candy-themed foam stickers jumped out at me and seemed so perfect for a cute gingerbread house craft for kids.
All of the other supplies we already had on hand – and really, these gingerbread popsicle stick houses could be made without the foam stickers, but I do think they make a cute addition. (And the kids thought they were adorable.)
If you’re ambitious, you can even turn this popsicle stick house into a full gingerbread house by adding the other walls and a roof.
After we made ours, I realized that I missed a golden opportunity to add some scent to our gingerbread houses. I’ve done this before by mixing flavor extracts or spices into our paints – or you can use a gingerbread fragrance oil like this one.
We added our gingerbread houses to our Christmas tree, but you could instead add a magnet to the back for a cute Christmas fridge magnet, or even use them as a creative alternative to gift tags. (And they double as a second gift!)
I think these gingerbread house crafts would be perfect if you have any food allergies in your home that would make traditional gingerbread houses unsafe.
