Bunny Corner Bookmark
A simple origami craft for kids, this Easter Bunny Corner Bookmark is a fun way to save kids’ place in their books while also adding some Easter whimsy.
Origami Easter Bunny Craft
A kind friend recently gifted Ella a pack of pretty origami paper so we’ve been dabbling a bit, trying to navigate our way through the intricate folds to create our own intricate creations.
We’re still a long way off from being able to create little mini sail boats or fantastic little animals, but this simple origami bunny was a quick and easy craft that will encourage young crafters to stick with it.
You can customize the free printable template for a variety of animals – little bears, cats, mice, etc.
If your kids are new to origami, I really enjoyed Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes by Eleanor Coerr. It’s a beautiful story about a young girl who sets out to make one thousand paper cranes because legend has it that if you do, you will be granted a wish. (Sadako’s wish is for her leukemia to be cured, but the book is written in an inspiring, hopeful way that isn’t too sad for young readers.)
While we used this craft as a bookmark, it can also be used to decorate the edge of an Easter card or picture.
I think it would be a cute gift for kids to make for best friends or siblings as a homemade Easter gift.

How to Make an Origami Easter Bunny Bookmark
Take an origami craft paper. If the paper isn’t already a perfect square, cut it down into an even square shape.
Bring the top corner of the paper towards the bottom corner and fold It in the middle.
This will create a triangle.
Now take the top flap of the triangle and bring it upwards, to the top, long edge of the triangle.
Place the point of the paper on the middle of the base of the triangle, them fold it there.
Now take the right point of the triangle and bring it downwards to the bottom point of the triangle, folding over half of the middle and meeting the bottom point.
Similarly, bring the left side of the triangle downwards to the bottom point.
This will create a diamond shape.
Tuck in both of the top flaps inside the little inside pocket that has been formed underneath.
Use the PDF template to cut out the bunny’s ears, teeth and nose.
Glue the ears on opposite sides of the bookmark, as shown, then glue on the nose to the middle of the bookmark.
Use markers to draw the eyes and whiskers of the bunny, and any other details you’d like.
