A delicious Greek-inspired pasta recipe featuring baked feta, tomatoes and olives. The baked feta and veggies turns into a creamy sauce that coats the pasta for a delicious and super simple meal the whole family will love.

Baked Feta Pasta Recipe

This is one TikTok trend I can totally get behind!

A creamy pasta dish created by baking a block of feta cheese at a high temperature along with some olive oil and tomatoes, that when mixed with fresh cooked pasta creates a creamy, salty sauce with blistered tomatoes adding pops of flavor.

This baked feta pasta is currently making the rounds on social media, but while the concept is brilliant and super simple, most of the versions I saw were really lacking when it came to flavor. They call for feta, cherry tomatoes, salt, pepper and pasta – which is a good start but we’re going to need to kick it up a notch!

Our version uses our homemade Greek seasoning, fresh lemon zest, lemon juice, and adds in black olives, onions and garlic for a more robust flavor profile. If your kids don’t mind a bit of heat, add in some crushed red chile pepper flakes to spice things up.

If you don’t have fresh lemons on hand, you can use lemon pepper seasoning in place of the pepper and lemon zest called for in this recipe.

Can I use a different type of cheese instead of feta? Yes, if you can’t find feta or want to swap it out for another reason, Queso Fresco, Ricotta Salata (the harder, aged variety of ricotta), goat cheese, blue cheese or soft ball mozzarella would all be great swaps, but note that they will all change the final flavor of the dish somewhat.

Can I prep this feta pasta ahead of time? Personally, I never find pasta as good when it’s reheated as when it’s fresh. However, if you want to prepare the feta-vegetable bake ahead of time, you can do that, mix it up and refrigerate until ready to serve. Reheat the feta-vegetable mixture as you cook up some fresh pasta and then stir together.
