Strawberry Fruit Salad
Sometimes, the best recipes are the most simple ones. Today’s recipe is a perfect example: a Simple Strawberry Fruit Salad with a honey-lime dressing, perfect for brunch, dessert or just a sweet snack anytime of day.
Strawberry Fruit Salad Recipe
Sweet strawberries. Juicy cherries. Tart blueberries. Crunchy pomegranates tendrils. Brought together with a simple honey-lime dressing.
This strawberry salad recipe is simplicity unto itself, but is absolutely irresistible.
I made the giant batch shown in these pictures thinking it would last us at least a few days of snacking and enjoying as a garnish on breakfast items and desserts… and it disappeared in less than a day!
I highly recommend making this recipe if you want your kids to gobble up more fruits, or if you have a special brunch coming up that could use a sweet side. I had hopes of adding this strawberry fruit salad on top of waffles and yogurt parfaits… so I guess I better get to the grocery store and whip this up again (at least it only takes 10 minutes) so I can make it again.
Strawberry Fruit Salad Frequently Asked Questions:
How should I wash the berries? Place the berries in a bowl of water with a splash of vinegar or a teaspoon of baking soda and allow to soak for a few minutes before draining and rinsing well. Gently pat dry with a paper towel before proceeding with the recipe.
Do I need to pit the cherries? Personally, I prefer to pit the cherries before adding them to the salad so that eating is easy and doesn’t involve the need to spit out the pits. You can use a cherry pitter or carefully cut them in half and remove the pit with your fingers.
How to pick the best berries for this strawberry fruit salad? You want fresh, ripe berries with vibrant colors, a sweet aroma and slight firmness without being hard. Avoid berries that are mushy or have moldy spots.
How to store strawberry fruit salad: This strawberry fruit salad is best enjoyed within a few hours of preparing but it can be enjoyed for 3 days after preparing. After that, the fruit will start to soften.
