Smoky Cinnamon Paprika Seasoning (with Video)
Today’s homemade seasoning blend is a sweet and smoky seasoning blend perfect for adding to your favorite pork recipes. This Smoky Cinnamon Paprika Seasoning is a perfect copycat version of the HelloFresh seasoning packet.
Smoky Cinnamon Paprika Seasoning Recipe
While most of my homemade seasoning blends are created to save money and avoid the additives that can often be included in those little store-bought spice jars, today’s Smoky Cinnamon Paprika seasoning blend came out of a different need.
It’s inspired by the HelloFresh seasoning blend, which is a custom blend you only get enough of in your shipment to cover the recipe it’s used for. So, if you try a seasoning packet from your subscription and love it, the only option is to try to recreate the blend yourself if you’d like to include it in other recipes (or remake that recipe again for yourself).
Luckily, HelloFresh has been very generous with sharing their seasoning recipes on social media, so this isn’t just an attempt at a copycat – this is the real deal!
This Smoky Cinnamon Paprika seasoning imparts a perfectly balance of smoky sweetness to any recipe you add it to with just a slight underlying tang. It’s especially delicious on pork, but is also divine added to chicken, beef, french fries, mayonnaise-based salad dressings, etc.
The best cost savings with this recipe is to purchase your spices from a bulk store, or if that’s not an option, buy the large containers of the individual spices and herbs. Buying the little containers to make this seasoning would be crazy expensive (but ironically, still cheaper than using the seasoning packets).
This Smoky Cinnamon Paprika Blend is shelf-stable for up to a year, as long as you use fresh (dried) herbs and spices when you make it and store in a cool, dry spot in your kitchen.
This seasoning is gluten-free, paleo, low-carb and vegan and makes a great homemade gift.
What is Smoky Cinnamon Paprika Seasoning? Our recipe stays true to the HelloFresh seasoning blend and is made with a variety of common seasonings: ground cloves, onion powder, cinnamon, smoked and sweet paprika, mustard powder and white sugar.

Tip: if desired, you can omit the sugar – it does help with caramelizing and tenderizing the meat that it is added to.
