A quick and easy DIY soap recipe for lump of coal soaps, a funny homemade Christmas gift with a classic Christmas scent.

DIY Lump of Coal Soap Craft

I have a long-standing joke with my baby brother about him receiving coal for Christmas.

He was an absolute pest growing up and over the years I’ve given him everything from coal-shaped candy to black socks folded to look like coal to charcoal for his BBQ in a potato sack labeled “coal.”

This year, I’m giving him the DIY beauty treatment with these silly homemade lump of coal soaps that actually provide an invigorating, deep clean thanks to activated charcoal, while giving a good laugh!

Activated charcoal is known for providing a deep clean, removing dead skin cells and unclogging pores, while not stripping skin of natural moisture or irritating sensitive skin. It’s a great add-in to homemade soap products, especially if you love working out.

I opted for the Christmas-inspired scents of frankincense and myrrh, which have their own health benefits as well. If you don’t enjoy those scents, you can definitely swap them out for other Christmas scents, like peppermint or even gingerbread, for an unexpected twist.

I am giving these lump of coal soaps in a cute mini stocking but you could also use little burlap sacks.
