I’m just going to start off this recipe with an apology – because this Buffalo Chicken Dip is addictive! I usually try to stick to easy, healthy recipes and while this crockpot appetizer is super easy, it’s loaded with more cheese than you probably eat in a week!

The perfect Crockpot Buffalo Chicken Dip Recipe for last-minute guests or game day party food. Serve with chips or vegetables, either way - this is one delicious appetizer recipe

I’m always a bit stumped when my brothers come over for things like game day. My go-to party foods are usually on the sweeter side and my favourite appetizers are a little bit too adventurous for their palates. (I think even a sharp cheddar might be too much for their tastes.)

This Crockpot Buffalo Chicken Dip recipe is perfect if you have picky eaters but also want something delicious for yourself. Serve with an assortment of chips and vegetables to please guests of all diets.

How to Make Buffalo Chicken Dip

While I usually like really spicy hot sauces, I decided to give a Buffalo Wing sauce a try since it’s the namesake of this recipe. It really works in this recipe since there is a long, slow cooking time, and it is strangely addictive when mixed with the other components of this recipe.

Place the buffalo chicken sauce and chicken breasts in a small pan and heat over medium heat for 5-7 minutes, turning the chicken once while cooking.

Once the chicken is fully cooked through, remove to a cutting board and shred. (This will also help you ensure that the chicken is cooked thoroughly.)

While the chicken is cooking, place cream cheese, blue cheese dressing, and celery in your crockpot. (And yes, you need blue cheese dressing in your life. When you’re done with this recipe, try the rest of the bottle on some wedge salads, as a dip for veggies… your life will never be the same. If you’re in a pinch, you can sub in ranch dressing.)

Add the cooled chicken, along with the buffalo chicken sauce, to the crockpot, cover and set to low before moving about your day – if you’re making this as a game day appetizer, being able to just set this and forget it is perfect so you can focus on all of the other things you need to be doing.

In two hours, the dip will be waiting for you – ready for the party! Just stir in your cheese before serving alongside chips or vegetables. (We also really like it spread on tortilla bread or enjoy with sweet potato crackers.)

An easy appetizer or game day party food, this Crockpot Buffalo Chicken Dip recipe is a crowd-pleaser.
