This past summer, my daughter and I had an amazing American Girl experience in NYC.

We stayed at a hotel that set out a bed for her doll along with matching doll & me bathrobes and was conveniently located just seven blocks from the flagship NYC American Girl store. We spent the better part of two days at the store – eating at the cafe, touring the four-story store and just playing with all of the fun displays.

Actually, it was hard to get my daughter to focus in the store to pick out items to buy – we barely bought anything! It’s actually so much easier buying their American Girl gifts online – less distractions and no lugging it back home in your suitcase!

There are so many fun options for American Girl fans, it was hard limiting this collection to just 20! We bought several pieces while in NYC (a hotel breakfast set, a backpack with doll-sized travel accessories, and lots of clothes) and I was blown away by the quality and detail of all the pieces.

I would pick items that naturally complement how your child already plays with his or her dolls – or items inspired by their favorite American Girl! The movies are also shockingly good, so if you don’t already have one for their favorite doll, I definitely recommend adding it to your cart!
