Edible Brains Recipe

Today’s recipe is a guest recipe as we’re in Texas for the week, hanging out with my best friend and her family.

I think these little brain cookies would be so fun for a zombie themed party or movie night.

You can make from-scratch panna cotta as the recipe describes, or you can use brain candies, or pipe the brains using buttercream frosting… the options are endless!

How to Make Edible Brains

Begin by sprinkling the 1/2 packet of gelatin over the 1/2 cup of cream. Mix the gelatin in. Set aside.

In a saucepan, combine your 1/2 cup + 6 Tablespoons of cream and sugar. Heat until boiling.

Stir occasionally, for about 5 minutes. Turn heat to low. Once simmering, stir in cream and gelatin mixture and the vanilla. Stir occasionally, for about 2 minutes.

Pour into mold.

Place in refrigerator for 4 hours or overnight. Once firm cover with plastic wrap.

For easiest removal, place the mold in the freezer just before removing – do not allow it to freeze through.
