No Bake Halloween Truffles Recipe
So, Disney has finally given us a release date for the much anticipated Hocus Pocus 2 – it’s coming fall 2022!
The original is such a Halloween classic, I always have to watch it at least once every October, so I’m excited to have a double-feature to look forward to next year!
Until then, the double feature will be the original movie and a big plate of these no bake Hocus Pocus truffles: a decadently rich and sweet 3-ingredient chocolate truffle rolled in crunchy colored nonpareils for a festive touch. (If you’re not a fan of the sprinkles, you can roll your truffles in powdered sugar, cinnamon sugar or cocoa powder – whatever appeals to you.)
These truffles are the perfect two-bite dessert for a party, gifting to a friend, or breaking out for a family movie night.
Making your own truffles may seem super technical and complicated, but it is incredibly easy. To make these truffles, you just need to:
- boil your whipping cream
- pour the cream over butter and chocolate
- mix it all together
- refrigerate
- scoop and roll into balls
- then roll in sprinkles (or your choice of coating)
That’s it. No tricky steps or fancy equipment required.
You can technically make these no bake chocolate truffles without the butter, but I find the flavor and texture a little more luxurious with that addition.
How long do these no bake Halloween truffles last? These homemade chocolate truffles will last for up to two weeks in a sealed container in the fridge. (They should be refrigerated due to the heavy cream used to make them.)
Can no-bake chocolate truffles be frozen? Yes! If you want to freeze your truffles, wrap them in foil or plastic wrap, then place in an airtight freezer bag or your favorite freezer containers. (This set of freezer containers is a crazy bargain.) Freeze for up to three months.
