DIY Hello Kitty Soap (with Video)
Ella and I just returned from a Universal Studios family vacation, and it wasn’t until we were starting to pack that I realized we had forgotten to return to the Hollywood shop and pick up a Hello Kitty souvenir for her and her best friend. DIY Hello Kitty Soaps to the rescue – super simple to make and we can now use our Hello Kitty bath mold for bath bombs, plaster molds, and more!
Hello Kitty Soap Craft
Ella and her best friend are obsessed with everything cats, it was only a matter of time before the two of them discovered Hello Kitty.
As it turned out, Hello Kitty has an entire store and a meet and greet at Universal Orlando Resort. I didn’t even know Hello Kitty was anything more than a mail order catalogue – apparently she has a comic series, several anime shows, films, music and more.
While I let Ella get a Hello Kitty chocolate cupcake, I promised that we would return to pick up some matching merchandise for her and her best friend… and then we both completely forgot about it!
A quick Etsy search revealed this cute Hello Kitty plastic mold which could be used for chocolates, candies, bath bombs, soap, etc.
I think chocolates would be super cute, but Ella wanted soaps and bath bombs. (I guess she got her chocolate Hello Kitty fill.)
This DIY soap recipe is super easy because we’re just taking some melt and pour soap and customizing it with some safe cosmetic glitter and color. It’s a great homemade gift for the Hello Kitty fan in your life, or a party favor for a Hello Kitty birthday party!

How to Make Hello Kitty Soap
Step 1: In a small microwave safe bowl, add 4 ounces of the melt and pour soap base. Melt for 30 seconds. If not melted, continue to heat for 15 seconds until mixture is completely liquid.
Steps 2-5: Add pink color, pink cosmetic glitter and red cherry scented oil. Whisk ingredients together.
Steps 6-8: Place mold on a plate and spray with rubbing alcohol and pour soap mixture until almost full. Spray soap mixture with rubbing alcohol to prevent bubbles. Allow to dry completely. I let mine dry for 24 hours.
Step 9: To release, place a large plate or cutting board over the bottom of the mold and flip over. GENTLY tap each area of the mold and gently lift. If the soap remains in the cavity, gently tap 1-2 more times to release.
