Star Wars Galaxy Cracker Toffee
Two years ago, I was introduced to a dessert so addictive it’s often referred to as “crack.”
And today, I make that dessert even better by combining it with our family’s love for all things Star Wars: Star Wars Cracker Toffee.
This nebula-inspired cracker toffee is an addictive treat perfect for a family movie night or Star Wars party.
It’s essentially a layer of crackers topped with a hard layer of homemade caramel and then topped with melted chocolate or candy melts. Pure decadence (and pure sugar).
I usually make it using saltine crackers but we tried it two ways this time – one batch with saltine crackers and one batch with graham crackers – and while I love that salty-sweet taste from the saltines, my daughter preferred the graham cracker flavor. While making it with chocolate chips instead of black candy melts is less “on theme” I like the taste better with chocolate chips.
Ingredients for Galaxy Cracker Toffee
- 10-15 graham crackers (chocolate or plain)
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup black candy melts or chocolate baking chips
- 1/2 cup purple chocolate melting wafers
- 1/2 cup blue chocolate melting wafers
- 1/2 cup of pink chocolate melting wafers
- Star sprinkles
- Silver sprinkles
Tip: you can swap out saltine crackers for the graham crackers.

How to Make Galaxy Cracker Toffee
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
Line your baking pan with parchment paper and then make a flat layer of crackers. Set aside.
In a small saucepan, combine the brown sugar and butter and cook over medium heat, whisking occasionally. Cook until there is no standing butter.
Pour the sugar mixture over the crackers, covering them completely.
Place the cracker toffee in the oven for 8-10 minutes until the caramel layer has bubbled and the crackers appear fully caramelized. Remove from the oven.
Sprinkle immediately with the chocolate chips or black candy melts and cover with tinfoil to allow the venting effect of the tinfoil to encourage the candy melts to melt completely. (If using chocolate chips, you can simply put back in the oven for 2 minutes and then spread with an offset spatula.)
Place the colored candy melts in separate bowls and microwave for 25 seconds, stir, and reheat as needed.
Use spoons or piping bags to drizzle the candy melts over the black or chocolate layer, and then use a knife or offset spatula to drag and swirl the colors together to create that cosmic “nebula” look.
Sprinkle with sprinkles and then place in the fridge for 1 hour to harden.
When ready to package or serve, “crack” your cracker toffee into single-serve or bite-sized pieces.
