Snow White Poison Apple Headband Craft

I’ve always loved the poison apples from Snow White, and now that Ella is in full-on Disney Descendents obsession mode, I predict a lot more poison apple crafts in our future!

Whenever we head to any of the Disney park, we always make a couple pairs of DIY Mickey Ears to wear at the parks. At first, we’d just buy our ears off of Etsy (there are so many unique Mickey ears available on there) but making our own is a fun way to build up excitement for our trip and they double as a cute “souvenir” after the trip. We have an entire wall in our dining room dedicated to our Mickey Ears collection.

Plus, making your own can help you avoid the infamous Mickey Ears headaches that the park versions are notorious for, and you can customize your ears to your child’s head size by ensuring that the headband fits. You can also swap out colors, add cute quotes, or other fun embellishments.

And obviously, making your own headbands is a lot cheaper than buying them – and you can even make matching sets for the whole family!

If you’d like your Mickey Ears to glow in the dark, you can use glow-in-the-dark fabric paint to paint the white foam or to draw directly on the red glitter foam. Glow-in-the-dark poison apple ears would be so cool at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party! (Or even while trick or treating at home.)

You will need 3 pieces of the red foam for each ear. Glue the 3 pieces of foam together with the glitter facing the front.

Glue the white poison apple on top of the red foam. Set aside.

Start assembling the bow. Pull the pieces of the bow together and add a bit of glue to secure in place. See photo for example. Repeat this with the second piece.

Place the bow on the bottom piece of it and then wrap a small strip around the middle and secure with glue. Glue a border around the ears with red sewing trim.

Glue the ears onto the headband.

Glue the bow in the center.
