Deluxe Pizza Sliders (with Video)
A year ago, I shared my Pepperoni Pizza Sliders and they went crazy so I thought I’d give a fresh take on those delicious game day sandwiches with these Deluxe Pizza Sliders! This pizza sandwich casserole is perfect for parties, potlucks – or for enjoying while kicking back and watching the game!

Deluxe Pizza Sliders Recipe
If you’ve been reading Sugar, Spice & Glitter for awhile you may remember that I’m a huge football fan.
My grandfather was a coach, my dad and brother-in-law both had the option to go pro (my dad chose the military instead) and I even played in high school… until the day that I couldn’t raise my arms above my head anymore because everyone else had kept growing after 5th grade and I hadn’t! I switched the girl’s flag football team after that, but those girls were just as tough!
Needless to say, the Superbowl (and any pivotal games leading up to it) is a big deal around here and I don’t want to miss any of the fun by being stuck in the kitchen – but I still want some scrumptious eats to serve and enjoy while we all hang out as a family and watch the game.
When entertaining for a low-key event like this, I like serving a variety of appetizers and easy-serve dishes like these Pizza Sliders and stocking the fridge with Coca-Cola and Coke Zero. Our family is avid Coca-Cola drinkers and whenever anyone even tries to serve something else, someone will inevitably go for a quick grocery store run and come back with a giant case of Coca-Cola for everyone to share. (Plus when it comes time to celebrate the final score, it’s easy to use the Coca-Cola as the basis for a delicious cocktail – like our Dirty Dr Pepper! Or just go for a classic rum and coke.)
These deluxe pizza sliders are (dare I say it?) better than pizza and way easier to whip up. It takes about 5 minutes to throw this together and you can make it the day before and stick it in the fridge until about 20 minutes before it’s time to serve.
I like adding a good hit of Italian seasoning to the buns and some hot sauce to the tomato sauce for a little bit of a flavor kick – but the best thing about these chessey, buttery pizza sliders is that you really get to make them your own! Swap out the toppings for your favorites or make a couple different batches to accommodate for different pizza preferences – whatever works for your crew!
(I think it would also be cool to set up a “pizza slider making station” and let people customize half sheets of the sandwich rolls – making 6 unique sliders with their choice of toppings. It would be a great commercial break activity and you could even do a little competition to see who could come up with the most creative sliders, best tasting sliders, cheesiest sliders, etc.)
These pizza sliders are now one of my favorite recipes to bring to serve at parties or bring to potlucks. They are the perfect snackable portion size – especially for an indulgent treat! My only complaint is that there are never any leftovers – I always come home with an empty casserole dish.
Plus, you can really customize this one however you’d like with whatever your favorite pizza toppings are: lots of veggies, a variety of different meats, white sauces, etc. You could even go gluten-free or dairy-free (although, I’d rather use a cashew cheese than go completely dairy-free…) You could even do half of the sandwiches with one set of toppings, and a second set of toppings for the other half!
These pizza sliders can be prepared the night before and left in the fridge overnight to soak up all that glorious golden butter, but it’s really just as good thrown together half an hour before you dig in! (So do whatever works for you!) I wouldn’t prep more than 48 hours in advance, for best texture.

How to Make Easy Pizza Sliders
Preheat oven to 325F.
Slice the sheet of rolls across the middle, resulting in a top layer and bottom layer of 12 connected rolls.
Place the bottom half of the rolls in a casserole dish.
Mix the hot sauce and pizza sauce together in a bowl and then apply generously to the bottom half of the bread.
Top with a generous handful or two of cheese to keep the toppings in place.
Add all of your chosen toppings – you can top with more cheese if you want really cheesy sliders.
Melt the butter in the microwave, heating for 20 seconds and then stir in the Italian seasoning. Pour or brush it on the top of the bread.
Cover and bake the pizza sliders for 20 minutes until the cheese is melted and butter has been fully absorbed, leaving golden sandwich tops.
