Slow Cooker Corn on the Cob Recipe

I don’t why it’s taken me 5 years of motherhood to start relying on my crockpot more often, but it has finally taken up permanent residence on my counter and it’s been wonderful developing recipes using it.

I free up time to clean after a day of running the daycare and actually get a bit of time to play around with some of my other, more experimental recipes for Sugar, Spice & Glitter, while confidently knowing that supper is taken care of.

One of my daycare kids’ favorite recipes is buttered corn and this easy slow cooker corn recipe lets me throw all of the ingredients into a slow cooker just after breakfast and serve up perfect buttered corn for lunch!

This would be a great stand-by for a summer barbecue or when you’re busy with more work-intensive recipes for the holidays.

Tip: add paprika or cajun spices to add extra flavor.

Kitchen Tools You May Need:

  • Slow cooker
  • Measuring cup and spoons
  • Crockpot Liners <– I haven’t used these but I have several friends who SWEAR by these for easy clean up

This is the crockpot that I use the most often – it has a thermoshield which not only prevents little fingers from being burned if the kids touch the outside of the crockpot, but it’s also great for bringing along to potlucks. I also like that I can set the cook time on it, so if we end up taking too long playing outside (or running errands) I don’t have to worry about the food burning.

How to Make Buttered Corn in the Crockpot

Place corn in slow cooker.

Cover with water.

Cook on high for 2½ to 3 hours.

Drain the water (or remove corn from crockpot).

Melt the butter and drizzle over the corn. (If using lemon juice, stir it into the butter before pouring over the corn.)

Toss to coat and sprinkle with salt and chopped parsley.

  1. What lentils are you using? I m using red lentils and they tend to cook in 10 minutes, especially after soaking. I m puzzled by your instructions to cook for 40 minutes. Help!
