Salted Caramel Apple Pumpkin Cocktail (with Video)
I wanted to come up with a crazy awesome cocktail to kick off the fall season and I just couldn’t pick one fall flavor – so this recipe has it all! Caramel. Apple. Pumpkin… and Kahlua!
If you want it all (or just suffer from decision paralysis like me) this Caramel Apple Pumpkin Cocktail has got you covered.
I first shared this Caramel Pumpkin Cocktail on my friend Amanda’s site.

Now, I wasn’t really sure that this cocktail recipe was going to work – it’s got a lot going on and pumpkin is not a flavor you see often in cocktails. (Often pumpkin spice drinks just have the spice and very little to no pumpkin.) So I was prepared for this cocktail to be a big flop… all in the name of experimenting!
But I was really pleasantly surprised at how delicious and refreshing this Caramel Apple Pumpkin Cocktail turned out. It’s perfectly balanced, with the predominate flavor being caramel apple with just the right note of pumpkin and salt to make it interesting and well-balanced.
Butterscotch Schnapps would also work in place of the Salted Caramel Kahlua and for a strong drink you could swap out the apple cider for a alcoholic cider – or if you don’t have apple cider on hand, apple juice will work in a pinch (though the cocktail will be sweeter as a result).
This fall cocktail would be fun to serve for a Halloween Party – or for a Harry Potter or Hallowe’en movie marathon! My next experiment will be trying this drink hot (if you beat me to it, you’ll have to let me know if it’s any good).
Tip: I often order my liquor from Drizly because they have a quick delivery time (sometimes within 40 minutes) and no expensive mark-ups. Purchasing from them supports local retailers, too. You can order the Salted Caramel Kahlua needed for this recipe from them.
