Kids Kitchen: Berry Bracelets

Recently, after a beaded bracelet was broken in the playroom (where the toddlers spend most of their day) we had to institute a rule of no beaded bracelets in the playroom — which could have just been the worst thing this mama could have said to her well-accessorized daughter.

After having to confiscate a bracelet one morning, I wanted to provide Ella with a tasty kids kitchen alternative: a berry bracelet!

Kids Kitchen: Berry Bracelets! A fun treat to make with kids in the kitchen. A perfect summer snack for kids - in their lunchbox or at the beach.

This bracelet is super easy snack for kids to make, or you could make it as a special treat for a lunch or outdoor picnic. We didn’t have any issues with stained clothes, but your child will be eating berries at a potentially weird angle (off of their wrists) so use your personal discretion with where you enjoy your berry bracelets.

How to Make Berry Bracelets - a fun and healthy snack for kids to help make

If using a toothpick, simply make a decent sized hole through each clean berry so that the dental floss can easily slide through. If making these berry bracelets with a child, I’d prefer to provide them with the plastic sewing needle — but if that’s not an option, I’d make the holes with the toothpicks myself and just allow them to do the threading.

Have your child create a pattern with their berries (patterning is an early math skill!) and then help them tie a knot to keep their berries secure.

Admire and eat!

This berry bracelet will last in a lunchbox or picnic basket, or would be a fun treat for a special family brunch!
