A simple recipe for homemade sugar scrub cubes with lavender essential oil - a great option for homemade beauty products on the go

This is a guest post written by my friend, Shelby from Fit as a Mama Bear.

With gorgeous weather finally here my skin could definitely use a little TLC (especially my feet)! This means that it needs a good exfoliating scrub coupled with some soothing, hydrating lotion. But instead of whipping out products for exfoliating, soaping and moisturizing.. I combined all three!

These little lavender sugar scrubs are perfect for those of us who want to pamper ourselves but don’t have three hours to do it. They’re easy to make (only a few ingredients) and perfectly customizable! Use your favorite scent to relax, refresh and enjoy!

And the best part: they’re perfectly portioned! Instead of dipping into a jar of sugar scrub you’ve got a perfect, hand held on at the ready.

These little scrubs are both nourishing (thanks to the shae soap and coconut oil) and exfoliating (courtesy of the sugar). They crumble into your hand once wet making them easy to apply.

I’ve used regular white sugar for the bulk of this recipe as it tends to be softer on the skin. But if you like something a little more intense sub it for organic cane sugar as the granules are a bit bigger.

How To Make Sugar Scrub Cubes

Combine the soap and oil in a double boiler over medium heat and melt. Stir every so often but know that the soap won’t melt solid. You’ll know it’s done (about twelve to fifteen minutes) when the oil is melted but the soap still looks slightly “chunky”.

While the mixture is melting, divide the tablespoon of cane sugar into the bottom of the molds. You just want a light sprinkle. Then pour the white sugar into a large bowl and add in the essential oil.
